Lakeridge Swim Club Pool Rules       Pool Rules (click to download)

These rules have been established by the Board of Trustees of Lakeridge Swim Club to assure safe operation of the pool facilities for the protection and benefit of all members and guests. These rules may be amended from time to time. Please keep this notice available during the season for ready reference. Feel free to advise staff of any suggestions for rules.

General
1. The General Manager, the Assistant Manager, and the lifeguards shall be in charge of the activities of all members and guests on the pool property.
2. Members shall be responsible for damage to club property by their families or their guests.
3. The club will not be responsible for loss of personal property.
4. Only on-duty employees are allowed in the office or in the filter/chlorine rooms.
5. Smoking is not allowed on pool property. This is to provide a smoke-free facility for our membership, and to comply with Washington State Law.

6. Do not leave valuables unattended. Due to thefts from both locker rooms, we ask that all members be extra vigilant.

Guest Rules

1. All members and guests must check in each day they come to the pool. A fee of $5.00 (five dollars) will be assessed for each guest, whether or not the guest uses the pool or tennis facilities. Guest passes may be used in lieu of paying the $5.00 guest fee.
2. Each guest will be issued a wrist-band to signify that day’s authorized entry.
3. Phone numbers will be required for all guests. Please be certain to have emergency phone numbers for child guests whose parents are not in attendance.
4. All guests must be accompanied by a member, and the pool member must remain at the pool while the guest is in attendance. Members are responsible for guest behavior and adherence to all pool rules.
5. If more than 6 (six) guests will be expected in any one day under one membership number, the staff must be notified in advance.
6. Member children under the age of 18 are limited to four (4) guests at one time unless accompanied by a responsible adult.
7. After-hour parties must be scheduled with the General Manager only, at least two weeks in advance of date planned, on a first-come basis.
a. After-hour parties are allowed on Friday and Saturday evenings from 9:00 - 11:00 p.m. and some weekend mornings, as available.
b. Alcohol is not allowed during after-hour parties. Allowances for beer and wine may be decided by the LSC Board of Trustees, under the control of the Washington State Liquor Control Board, and must be provided in written form.

Swimming Rules
1. The lifeguards have control of the swim areas. The Lifeguard has final say on all matters of safety, regardless of the rules.
2. The Manager or Lifeguard has the right to remove a Swimmer for inappropriate conduct or actions. The following disciplinary actions may be enforced if a verbal warning is issued and not followed: • Time out of the pool • Out of pool for the rest of the day.
3. Inappropriate and/or dangerous actions including, but not limited to, profanity or disrespectful behavior are prohibited and may result in the member or guest being denied use of the facilities.
4. No one under 12 years old will be allowed to be at the pool unless accompanied by a parent or other responsible adult.

Swimming Test (Please see an office staff member to take the test, not the lifeguard currently on duty in the chair.)


1. Any child with a “Non-Swimmer” wristband must pass a swimming test to be allowed in the deep end unattended.
2. Swim one (1) length of the pool without stopping or gaining assistance and tread water or survival float in deep water for two (2) minutes.
3. Manager and parent approval.
Each Child under 12 years old who has not passed the swim test must be attended by parent or qualified sitter who is with the child in the water or watching the child within reaching distance. Non-swimmers must stay where they can comfortably stand with his or her head above water.

Swim Aids
1. Artificial swimming aids are not allowed, i.e. life jackets, water wings, kick boards, flotation bathing suits, ‘noodles’, wet or dry suits, etc.
2. Face masks, snorkels and flippers are allowed as long as they are used properly.

Lap Lanes
1. Lap lanes are for lap swimmers only. Kick boards and pull buoys may be used in the lap lanes only.
2. From 6-7 p.m., lap lanes are for adult swimmers only (12 years of age and older). Courtesy rules - Two may split a lane, three or more circle swim, please. If lanes are crowded, and another lap lane is needed, please ask the office staff for assistance, not the lifeguards currently on duty in the chair.

Tennis
1. Tennis shoes only. NO BARE FEET.
2. Reservations for weekend tennis can be made in the office starting on Wednesday for the upcoming weekend. Anyone making a reservation and not being on the court within 10 minutes after the hour will be considered a "no show" and forfeit their reservation. The remaining time is open to anyone. Each member family is limited to one reservation per weekend.
3. Please keep court area clean - no food on courts, especially pop and gum.
4. Sportsmanlike conduct is required at all times.
5. Playing time is limited to two sets or one hour. Please clear the court after that time if anyone is waiting to play.
6. If it’s busy, tennis players must log in an arrival time on the schedule in the office. This will also establish the expiration of the time limit.
7. Weekdays after 6:00 PM, adults have priority on the court (unless you are 12+ or currently enrolled in tennis lessons and playing with an adult).
8. Do not try to retrieve lost balls from over the south fence, or tease or harass the dogs in the neighboring yards.
9. Tennis balls ONLY are allowed on the court.
10. Only four persons per court are allowed. Those persons not playing must be outside the court areas.
11. Do not climb over, lean on or strike net. Do not strike court surface with racquet or any other object. If damage occurs, the member will be held responsible for repairs. Members are responsible for damage incurred by their guests.
12. Tennis lessons and tournaments have priority over regular play.

Cleanliness & Sanitation
1. Shower before entering the pool.
2. No shoes are allowed in the pool gutter areas.
3. No gum chewing on the pool deck or in the water.
4. No food or drinks allowed in the water. Food is to be consumed back from the pool edge.
5. No glass containers of any type allowed anywhere on pool grounds. Ever.
6. No alcohol is allowed on the pool premises.
7. Tables and BBQ grills are shared by all. Please turn off gas when done and clean grill and table area for next guest use. Please pick up all your debris and place it in the garbage and recycle cans.
8. Persons with skin abrasions, colds, inflamed eyes, ear discharges, infections or bandages are not allowed in the pool. NO BAND AIDS allowed.
9. Spitting, blowing the nose, or depositing any foreign matter into the pool is prohibited.
10. Proper bathing suits are required. No cut-off shorts allowed.
11. Infants who accompany parents in the water must wear a ‘swim diaper’ and bathing suit. No regular diapers allowed in the pool. No one will be allowed in the water nude, regardless of age.
12. No boys over the age of 6 permitted in the Women's restroom and no girls over the age of 6 are permitted in Men's restroom.
13. Park all bicycles in bike area. No riding of bicycles or other vehicles on the pool deck or tennis court.
14. No pets are allowed within the fenced area. If your pet waits for you outside the fence, please clean up after it, or keep your pets at home.

Safety

1. Dive Tank :
a. One person at a time and one bounce only allowed on diving board.
b. Dive from board straight off the end. Do not dive towards side wall.
c. Swim directly to ladder after diving, and exit the pool immediately at ladder or on ladder side wall. Do not exit pool from back dive tank wall.
d. Do not swim under the diving board or hang on to board while in the water.
e. Do not swim under the rope dividing the dive tank areas.
2. Only foot-first entries in 3-5 foot areas. No head-first diving unless in dive tank.
3. Lane lines are markers only. Please do not sit or pull on them. Whenever possible, go under rather than over them.
4. Running, wrestling, dunking, or other acts of horseplay are prohibited in or out of the water. “Chicken-fights” or sitting on or diving from another’s shoulders are not allowed. The staff has the right to restrict games and the use of equipment in the swimming pool. Squirt guns or water balloons are not allowed.
5. Balls are allowed in the shallow end only. NO throwing of objects, including balls, to persons using the diving board.
6. Throw balls from in the water only, not from the deck. Do not hang from the basketball hoop or net.
7. Wading pool is for pre-school and primary age children only.
a. There is no lifeguard for the wading pool. Parents are responsible for the supervision of their children in the wading pool.
b. Kick boards and pull buoys are not allowed in the wading pool.
8. Stay away from the lifeguard chairs and do not talk to lifeguards on duty unless an emergency warrants conversation.
9. In case of emergency, the pool will be cleared by the lifeguard by three sharp blasts of the whistle.
